There are at least 4 other miniatures of officers of the 49th who defended Canada in the War of 1812, one of whom Dixie turned the battle of Cryslers Farm.

Many enagements involevd Quebecquois, eg Chateauguay, and all to defend Montreal!

WHAT IS THE MCCORD DOING TO HONOUR THE BICENTENNARY? One idea - the minatures and associated life stories. get Daniel Claus painting from Nat Archives, I can lend Dixie painting, get Lt Ricmond from UK, and JSewell (son of Quebec chief justice of time!).

more could be done with Chateuaguay as well and battle of Plattsburgh 1814 where 49th also involved. they were also stationed in both Montreal and Ile aiux Noix.
