Eastern Woodlands

The Eastern Woodlands geocultural area takes in the vast forests that stretch from Newfoundland to the Great Lakes region, including the Maritime provinces as well as southern Québec and Ontario. South of the St. Lawrence River, this area extends as far as North Carolina in the east and to the junction of the Missouri and Mississippi rivers in the west.

Groups such as the Anishinaabe, Iroquois, Huron-Wendat and Mi'kmaq live in this geocultural area.
