Writing to Another

Only a tiny portion of the correspondence written after the arrival of the colonists in New France has been passed down to us. But the letters that have survived provide researchers with valuable clues about the political and economic preoccupations and daily life of their writers. They also reveal the strict rules that governed letter writing in previous eras.
