This selection of approximately 80 images provides a sample of the collections related to life on the West Coast around the start of the 1900s. It recalls the geography, people and some of the economic activities of British Columbia which became a province of the Canadian federation in 1871.
- Landscapes (Rocky Mountains, Pacific Forest, etc.) and urban views;
- Construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway;
- North Vancouver's beginnings (the pioneer village of Moodyville, tourism development);
- Scenes recalling economic activities (logging, mining, fishing, canneries, tourism, etc.) and life on the West Coast.
