This selection of approximately 630 images provides a sample of the collections related to cities, circa 1900, situated on the territory that makes up today's Canada. It examines the urbanization that spread across the country at a time when roughly two people in five were living in cities.
- In Quebec: Montreal, Quebec City, Hull, Sherbrooke, Trois-Rivières, Valleyfield;
- In Ontario: Toronto, Ottawa, Hamilton; in Nova Scotia: Halifax; in New Brunswick: Saint John, Moncton;
- In British Columbia: Vancouver; in Manitoba: Winnipeg;
- In other parts of the Prairies: Regina, Saskatoon, Edmonton and Calgary.
