This selection of approximately 120 images provides a sample of the collections related to Canadian mining between the years 1850 and 1950. It recalls various mining operations used to extract rocks and solid minerals of economic value at a time when industrialization was spreading to new regions.
- Klondike Gold Rush (Yukon);
- Extracting silver, copper and nickel in Quebec and northeastern Ontario;
- Coal mining in Lethbridge (Alberta) and asbestos in Thetford Mines (Quebec);
