Millar, Charles Howard

Charles Howard Millar (1856-1939) was both the postmaster and the registrar of Drummondville County. In 1888 he purchased a camera, manufactured by the Rochester Optical Co., from the Notman studio in Montreal, where he also received instruction on basic photographic techniques.

As a photographer, Millar had no artistic pretensions; he was an amateur who captured primarily images of the daily life of his family.
