The First World War of 1914-1918 was a horrible time in Canadian history, taking nearly 61,000 of Canadian lives. Having great confidence the Canadian soldiers had great achievements on the battlefields of Ypres, Vimy and Passchendaele. There was a very big sense of nationalism and patriotism which made men, women, young boys and girls to enlist. Canada mainly relied on volunteering to provide the necessary needs of the war.
