Introduction

Why did Canadians fight in a war that wasn't necessarily theirs to begin with? There were no real advantages to joining the war, right? Wrong. People joined the war because of fear, nationalism, imperialism, and even humanitarian reasons. They wanted to show a sense of loyalty to Britain, they wanted to fight back against the enemy that's trying to soil the earth of Great Britain and the Queen. They wanted to help the injured and pay their duty to the nation by fighting for it.
