At the end of 19th century, the vision of investors and community leaders is that Lethbridge and southwestern Alberta will develop into the industrial centre of the Canadian West. The people of Lethbridge will mine the coal and build railways and factories to make the products needed by the immigrants pouring into the northern plains.
