Introduction

This collection is about how the crowd gathers around the bride and the groom to immortalize the wedding ceremony through pictures. It includes pictures between the 1860's and 1930's. Faces change, but the sense of support for the couple from the people they invite never does. Then, like nowadays, weddings were seen as a moment marking a change of life everyone hopes will be for the best for both the bride and the groom. However, there has been a great change in the whole concept: marriage is not longer a contract founded in obedience but on collaboration.
