Keys to History
The Dominion Cotton Mills Company Ltd. was created in 1890 to acquire many of Canada's textile mills. The acquisitions of this big trust included the Sainte-Anne Spinning Mill, on Notre Dame East, in the Sainte-Marie neighbourhood. Hundreds of women and girls earned their living in the cotton mills.
