Keys to History

Westmount Park, seen here in 1908, was both an urban country park and a square, similar in appearance to St. Louis Square. Westmount, a neighbourhood clinging to the west side of Mount Royal, making it the counterpart of Outremont in the east, accommodated the mostly Anglophone members of both the middle and upper classes who were gradually leaving the new downtown.
