Keys to History

As indicated by the signs, Joseph Bruneau's butcher's shop, which occupied a building that was already ancient in the old St. Lawrence neighbourhood, not far from the central business district, offered at the beginning of the 20th century not only all sorts of fresh meats, but also butter, oysters, canned goods, vegetables, etc. In short, he had a grocery store, like hundreds of others in all the neighbourhoods of Montreal.
