Keys to History

It was only in 1907 that the École des Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC) opened its doors, an initiative of the Montreal business community, which was concerned about the quality of business education in Quebec. The HEC occupied a splendid building on Viger Square, across from the hotel and station of the same name. It would become officially Catholic and affiliate with Université Laval de Montréal in 1914.
