"BIC: Crossing the St. Lawrence again and travelling down the south shore we reach the mountains and the isle strewn harbour of Bic. In front is the Islet au Massacre. Here in the days of Cartier 200 micmaks who had taken shelter in a cave were smoked out and killed or burned by wandering Iriquois."

Excerpt from "CANADIAN GEOGRAPHY & ECONOMICS: The St. Lawrence River" (Lecture A.4 and A.11); booklet, McGill University Illustrated Lectures, about 1930.
