"RIVIERE DU LOUP: We pass through the summer resorts of St. Patricks and Cacouna and come immediately to Riviere du Loup, a large and modern town, a sudden contrast to the quiet village on the way from Montmagny. Riviere du Loup is named after the "Loups Marins", the seals which play about its mounth."

Excerpt from "CANADIAN GEOGRAPHY & ECONOMICS: The St. Lawrence River" (Lecture A.4 and A.11); booklet, McGill University Illustrated Lectures, about 1930.
