Description

This fork is part of a set of cutlery given to commemorate the baptism of William MacFarlane Notman (1857-1913). The fork has been chewed on by the child.

William McFarlane, the eldest son of William Notman, was born November 1, 1857. He became a partner in the company in 1882 before inheriting it outright on the death of his father in 1891. He named his brother Charles (1870-1955) a partner in approximately 1894. William McFarlane died May 1, 1913.
