This educational game enables users to draw pictures using beads. It was made in Germany by J.W. Spear & Sons Limited. This company, founded in1879, was for many decades one of the world's foremost manufacturers of board games.

So-called educational games were introduced at the end of the 19th century. The number and variety of the games increased throughout the 20th century, in conjunction with the expanding influence in the field of child development of the theories of the French psychologist Jean Piaget (1896-1980). This game was purchased around 1935.
