Keys to History

The Illustrated London Newsof August 25, 1860 describes Montreal's downtown such as it was at the time.

"The principal business streets are Notre-Dame, St.-Paul's, Commissioners, McGill, Great St. James and the Main Streets of the St. Lawrence, Quebec, St. Ann's, St. Joseph, and St. Antoine Suburbs."
