This copper medal was awarded to the Notman photography studio in 1867 at the Paris World's Fair. The inscription "H. Ponscarme F." is engraved on the medal, which in Latin means that it was made by H. Ponscarme.
At the fair, William Notman displayed small and large photographic portraits as well as pictures of skating on the St. Lawrence, seal hunting on the ice, caribou hunting, and rural scenes.
