Description

The Canadian history collection assembled by David Ross McCord is very diverse, ranging from Amerindian artefacts and canvases of famous figures to explorers' accounts of their voyages in the Canadian Far North. The collection also includes a large number of works by John Henry Walker, a Montreal wood engraver who produced thousands of prints in the 19th century. Among other things, Walker made business logos like that of the William Dow and Company brewery, a large Montreal concern located, ironically, in Griffintown!
