This dish was part of a service owned by the McCord family. It was made by Davenport, a company in Longport, Staffordshire, England, that produced a great many porcelain-dining services. This dish, decorated with bouquets of roses painted in a naturalist style, was probably made between 1820 and 1840. However, because of the inferior quality of the porcelain clay and the painted design, it may have been copied from an earlier model.
