Description

Henri Julien was an engraver, illustrator, cartoonist, journalist and painter. The prolific, self-taught artist, who rose to the post of art director at the Montreal Daily Star, covered the House of Commons as a political cartoonist. But it was his scenes of the daily lives of French-Canadian habitants that won him his greatest fame, not only in Canada but also in the United States, France and Great Britain.
