Description

This map is from a manuscript entitled Histoire du Canada depuis l'année 1749 jusqu'à 1760, by Sieur Louis de Courville. Sieur Louis-Léonard Aumasson de Courville (1722?-1783?) arrived in Quebec around 1749 with the Marquis de La Jonquière (Governor of New France) and acted as his secretary. Named Royal Notary for all of French Acadia in May of 1754, he was stationed at Fort Beauséjour near Sackville, New Brunswick. This map shows the location of the fort and other nearby establishments.
