Keys to History

At the end of his tenure in 1878, Canada's most popular Governor General returned to Britain and continued his success as a diplomat in Russia, Europe and India. In the composite he is portrayed standing at the top of the stairs, surrounded by Capt. Frederick Ward, Lieut. F. Rowan Hamilton, Lieut. Col. Littleton, Military Secretary, the Hon. Mrs. Littleton, the Countess of Dufferin and Lieut. J.E.A. Harvey.
