Keys to History

Photographs of the bedroom, the private space par excellence, are very rare. There are, however, three photographs of Mrs. Joseph Masson's bedroom, taken on a beautiful day in 1898. We see a spacious room, with elegant furniture (bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers) as well as a settee, a rocking chair, several chairs and a writing desk. Mrs. Masson could receive her friends and family here, do her correspondence or read by the fireplace.
