According to a tourist brochure published in 1890 by the Windsor Hotel, Montreal, that year, had sixteen Presbyterian churches, including the American Presbyterian Church, on Dorchester Boulevard (now René-Levesque), a short distance from the hotel, and the Scottish Presbyterian, also not far from the hotel, but on St. Catherine Street. All Presbyterians attach great importance to the organization of the community, of which the representatives form a "presbytery." This photo shows the interior of the American Presbyterian Church in 1873.
