In the fall of 1868, Notman opened a photography studio in Toronto, at 120 King Street East. This is a picture of that Toronto studio. John A. Fraser was the managing partner, and the studio, which was known under the name Notman & Fraser, was very successful until 1880, when Fraser sold it to pursue a career as a painter.
